New Windows Updates

A new major update for Windows 10 (version 1809) is available in the district and will start attempting to install on your machine in the next week or two. It includes many new security features and some improvements to the wireless projection devices already installed in many of our district classrooms.

One thing to be aware of is that if your machine prompts you to restart, it may take longer than normal to complete the process and get back up and running. The tech department would highly recommend doing these restarts before and after school to avoid missed instruction time. While these updates can sometimes be annoying, it is important that we do them to stay up-to-date on current security and quality of life features.

Trimester Transition in Canvas

A technical limitation in Canvas does not allow two trimesters to be active at one time. As a result, district Canvas enrollment sync for third trimester is paused until Sunday evening, allowing teachers to finish second trimester grades and collect assignments without any technical problems.

This may result in students having incorrect third trimester enrollments in Canvas. PowerSchool is not impacted by this pause and students should use their PowerSchool schedule for class schedule data.  Canvas enrollments should be corrected Sunday night and be ready for class on Monday morning. Canvas is working towards a solution to this inconvenience and hopes to have this problem corrected by fall. Sorry for any confusion this may cause.

KACE Outage Update

As everyone is aware, we have been experiencing some issue with the KACE (KBOX) system both in the administrator portals and the Help Desk configuration. Due to a certificate error, some people have been receiving a message that KACE is unavailable due to too many redirects within the portal. This should now be resolved. Continue reading KACE Outage Update

Temporary Internet Outage

Google Services Restored

Google is reporting all services are functioning normally after the brief outage this morning. If you are still having problems with any of the Google services, please submit a KACE ticket or contact the Help Desk.
