Cedar Rapidian, Ellen Land is a Building Tech Support Specialist at City High. She supports all staff, students, and teachers with their tech needs. Ellen has been with the district for 4 years and was previously a middle school science teacher.
Ellen has two kids and two big dogs. They can frequently be seen walking their neighborhood almost every day.
Ellen is currently reading two books. At home, she is reading Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. On her lunch break at school, she is reading The Tower of Nero (Trials of Apollo, Book 5) by Rick Riordan. She can be found raiding the City High Library quite frequently.
If she could only eat one food for the rest of her life, Ellen would have pizza since it’s so versatile. She says there is breakfast pizza, white sauce, red sauce, mac & cheese, anything you want. Ellen recommends going to Mesa to get their quesadilla pizza because it’s amazing.
The most interesting place she has ever been is the Swiss Alps. She and her friends started on a tour and decided to make their way down the mountain once at the top, which was a slight mistake. They made the best of it and found some cows penned in by an electric fence (“Guess how we found they were electrified??”) Eventually they found a train to take them where they needed to go, all while seeing some amazing sights. Ellen says it could have been a terrible trip but when your best friends are with you, it feels like nothing can go wrong. It all depends on who you go with. She would definitely go back any day!
